CATS HOMED CATS NEEDING HOMES CATS HELPED

FUNDS RAISED FORTHCOMING EVENTS

We have had a busy couple of weeks as the litter of kittens from Nelson who were coming up to nine weeks old and due for their first injection became ill.

They were sneezing and their eyes became very inflamed, they have been back to the vets several times and had to have antibiotic drops and eye cream twice a day, we despaired at ever getting them better. Thankfully they have recovered, we have homed two of them, but Bravo and Valour are still waiting for homes.

CATS HOMED

Willow, Willow, collar wound cat.our pretty black and white female, fully recovered from her horrendous collar wound now has a lovely new home in Ashton. It was very hard to let her go as I had been caring for her since last year and she was so grateful for all we did for her.

Freddy, our fluffy tabby and white boy now renamed Toby has gone to a new home in Penwortham where he settled in straight away. I am so pleased that finally someone gave him a home as he is such a lovely cat and just needed to find someone to love.

Alex, our black and white kitten now has a new home in Cottam. He has had an upset tummy, but is settling in slowly to his new home.

Lily, our black and white female now has a shiny new coat and a new home in Lostock Hall.

Tinker, has been spayed after all her kittens found homes, Spirit, has a new home in Fulwood, Pumpkin, now lives in Lostock Hall. Eve, lives in a new home in Ashton, Spooky, has moved to Euxton, Wizard, has moved a bit further away to Flixton and Hal and Pendle now have a new home together in Barton.

Hope and Courage, two of our rescued kittens from Nelson now live in Walton-le-Dale and Lostock Hall.

INGOL CATS

The remaining five cats at Ingol went to a new home in Nateby, trapped and transported in two trips. I went with Sylvia on the first trip and the cats will have a wonderful life on a farm where they can have as much or as little human contact as they wish. Willow, collar wound cat. They were penned up in the utility room where there is a kettle and a fridge for the farm workers so will have lots of coming and going to watch which will help them get used to their new home. Sylvia and I have worked very hard at rehoming this family of semi-feral cats and kittens and it has taken two and a half years to find homes for 23 adult cats and at first 14 kittens there were then four more litters of kittens born before we were able to trap and neuter the adults. Most of the hard work has been done by Sylvia who not only had to make trips to the vets as well as going to feed them twice a day, every day but had to make phone calls to the nursing home where the owner had been taken and then when he sadly died had to deal with the solicitors and the family to give us some space to find the right homes. The last five cats were found a home in the nick of time as the family were due to renovate the house and put it up for sale!! Thank you Sylvia for your dedication towards this little family of cats, it would not have been possible without your help.

CATS NEEDING HOMES

Bailey, is a young neutered sandy and white cat found in the Leyland area with a damaged eye and ear, possibly from fighting. If no-one claims him we will find him a new home.

Tabby, is an eleven year old tabby female, she was taken to the vets by her owner as she had twice had a little accident and missed her litter tray. The owner tried to insist she was put to sleep as she did not want a dirty cat. We were asked to help and after tests showed she had a urinary infection we brought her home with some medication. She has recovered very well and is more than ready for a new home, she is a sweet little girl and deserves a loving home.

Tiny Tim, is so called as he is slightly overweight. He came to us after the lady feeding him could cope no longer and rang the vets in Fulwood to arrange to have him put to sleep. He was making life extremely difficult for her upsetting her own elderly cat and tripping up her mum who ended up with a broken arm. He had been found a new home in Ribbleton but managed to walk back to Fulwood.

CATS HELPED

A stray being fed in Chorley was taken to the vets and we helped by paying to have its badly matted fur shaved so he was made more comfortable. The people feeding him paid to have him neutered and offered him a home.

FUNDS RAISED

The Flea Market in February raised £910.00 “Well Done” and “Thank You” to everyone who came and helped.

The Flea Market in March raised £947.00 another big Thank You and Well Done to everyone who came to help and donated items for our stall.

We only have a small group of people who come and help on the day and they all work extremely hard, if you could help out for an hour or two we would really appreciate it. Please telephone Sylvia on Preston 716837 if you would like more details of how you can help.

A stall at the Preston & Blackpool Cat Show at St Vincent’s College Sports Hall was looked after by Angela, Carol and Sylvia due to the fact I had a previous commitment. They worked really hard and raised £166.00, a big Thank You to them all for stepping in at short notice.

Thank You to everyone who donated cat blankets, cat baskets, soft toys, ornaments, anything with a catty theme. There were lots of comments on the day about how nice our stall looked.

Thanks to Brian who helped with the setting up and packing away despite not feeling very well at all. I must go away and leave you all to it more often!
